Aero Environmental
SERVICES
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has established the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system as a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. The  LEED Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.  Certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project is environmentally responsible, energy-efficient, and a healthy place to live or work.   The LEED rating system addresses:

Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy & Atmosphere
Materials & Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality
Innovation & Design

Aero has LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) on staff to assist your design team through every phase of project certification.  In addition to certification guidance, we provide the following “green” services:

Energy Audits & Conservation
Air Quality Testing
Water Conservation
Carbon Credits Off-Setting
Alternative Energy

Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is an important health and liability concern for every type of facility. Increased demands for energy efficiency, poor engineering design, and/or deferred maintenance due to budget restraints have all contributed to IAQ problems. To understand IAQ issues, it is first necessary to understand how the building operates, as well as the role of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The building's HVAC system is the means by which air and pollutants are distributed throughout the facility.

Aero’s industrial hygienists and engineers have the thorough understanding of building systems necessary to efficiently diagnose and solve IAQ problems. Our approach is based on phases, to minimize the unnecessary expense of inconclusive sampling.

Aero’s IAQ services include:

Indoor air quality testing in response to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and
Building Related Illness (BRI complaints
Microbial evaluations, including both fungi & bacteria
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) measurement and source identification
Allergen sampling
Moisture intrusion assessment
Remediation specification development & remedial contractor oversight
Odor investigations
Expert litigation support/testimony
Industrial Hygiene
Aero Environmental Services provides an array of industrial hygiene services to evaluate employee exposures and compliance with OSHA standards.  Our staff can provide cost-effective evaluations to identify health and safety concerns and develop programs to reduce health and safety risks.

Aero’s industrial hygiene services include:

Exposure monitoring (solvents, gases/vapors, welding fumes, petrochemicals, particulates)
Noise monitoring & hearing conservation
Asbestos assessment & management
Lead assessment & management
Abatement specification development & abatement contractor oversight
Regulatory compliance audits & permitting
Respiratory protection plans & fit testing
Health & Safety Program development and training
Expert litigation support/testimony
Emissions testing & reporting

Mechanical/Ventilation Design
The heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system provides thermal comfort for building occupants. It is also the means by which air and pollutants are distributed throughout the facility.

Aero Environmental Services' mechanical engineers have the thorough understanding of building systems necessary to efficiently diagnose design deficiencies in the HVAC systems and solve indoor air quality (IAQ) problems. The ventilation issues that have led to IAQ problems can range from design deficiencies (i.e., inappropriate sized air handling units for the occupancy load), poor maintenance, or no outdoor air being provided to the occupied areas.
